My Return w/ a New Journey!

3 Aug

Hey Cuties,

I know, I know. It’s been WAY too long since my last post! And I apologize. This summer has kept me so busy, and whenever I have some downtime all I feel like doing is napping and watching tv, but I’m getting it together. So let’s get on with this post!

Recently, I had run into some issues with my 1b relaxed locks, which totally freaked me out. I had breakage, and It. Was. Bad! It’s like it came all of a sudden, and until my mother asked me about it I hadn’t really noticed. This shocking realization caused me to re-examine my hair routine. I hadn’t been moisturizing my hair like I should, my hair had been a bit over-exposed to heat, and I had been irregular on my touch-up schedule. All in all, a recipe for disaster.

Here are pictures of the damage.

I also was in the process of growing out my bangs.

Pretty scary, huh! Since I was do for a touch-up shortly after those photos were taken, I decided to start a long, healthy hair journey (not a natural journey), so I got a haircut to not only get rid of the breakage, but also to get a fresh start!

Here is the picture after my cut.

I got an asymmetrical bob because most of my breakage was in the back anyway. Plus, I wanted to hold on to as much length as I could. As far as my routine goes I just wash my hair once a week and deep condition, and then every other day I oil my scalp, and every day I put some kind of moisture lotion on my hair. I also use heat products once a week right after I wash it.

Shortly after my cut, I got my hair braided for a trip to the super hot South.

I really liked how It turned out. It’s kinda faux hawk-esque. I had some hair added in as well. It’s ModelModel Circle Curl bulk weave, it took two packs for me but it was only $5 a pack at the beauty supply I go to. Warning: it is very tangly! It’s not that great of a quality synthetic hair, but hey, it worked for what I needed it for. And I heard braids are great for growing out your hair, so I’ll probably be rocking this style again soon.

I took my braids down the other day because it’s touch up time again. I’m going to take before and after pictures when I got to the beauty shop and hopefully there will be some healthy growth I can give you an update about!

Well that’s all for my hair, but I did have something else I want to mention. While I was in Atlanta I got my makeup done by celebrity makeup artist Cory Bishop! He is AWESOME! My cousins and I took a Temptu airbrushing class from him at the Sephora in Lenox Mall, and it was so fun and informative. The Temptu system is definitely at the top of my Christmas List! My skin looked so flawless! And I really was fortunate to have pretty nice skin to begin with, but the Temptu took it to a whole nother level. He also used a beautiful hot pink blush on my lips and chicks which gave me the greatest flush.

It was hard to get a good close picture before the heat got to my face, so this is the best I got.

The make up just feels so good on the skin, and the airbrush system is pretty simple to use, it just takes practice.

Ok that’s enough updates. I hope to start a back to school series in the next week or two, which may even be vloged on YouTube @CollegeCutie22, so stay tuned for that!
